Projects
Does it change my project folders?
No. Versions are kept in Caretaker's own folder. Going back opens a version as a copy, or saves it where you choose. Your project file is never replaced.
When is a version taken?
When you save in your app. Caretaker notices the save and keeps a copy.
Where are versions kept, and how much space?
In Caretaker's folder in your Library. Settings, Versions shows the space they use, sets a limit, and deletes them.
Which apps does it know?
Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Resolume, TouchDesigner, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, Rhino, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Figma and more. Boost works with any app.
Clean
Is it safe?
Caches and logs it clears are made again by your apps, so they are deleted for good. Files you might want, like duplicates, large files and old installers, go to the Trash first, and Cleaning History puts any of them back for 90 days. It never touches macOS, anything you made, or your cloud files on its own. See Safety.
Why does it need Full Disk Access?
To see caches and leftovers macOS keeps private. It's optional; without it, scans see less.
Pro
Is Pro a subscription?
It can be: $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year, cancel any time. Or pay $129 once for lifetime, with every 1.x and 2.x update. All for up to three Macs.
I have a new Mac.
Choose Deactivate This Mac in Settings on the old one, then enter your code on the new one.
Does it send my work anywhere?
No. No account, and nothing about your files leaves the Mac. See Privacy.
