Who you are buying from
Caretaker Pro is sold by Polar Software, Inc. ("Polar"), the seller of record, which takes the payment, issues the receipt and handles the tax. The licence to use the software is granted by SIALK LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17427982. Polar's own terms apply to the purchase: polar.sh/legal/terms.
Free
Caretaker is free to download and use, for any purpose, with no account and no time limit. Pro adds the features listed on the Pro page, and can be tried free for 14 days from inside the app, once per Mac.
Pro, bought once
$14.99, once (£11.99 in the UK, €13.99 in the euro area; elsewhere the checkout shows the price, and that is the price). One purchase is for one Mac. To move it to another Mac, choose Deactivate This Mac in Caretaker's Settings first; a purchase can move up to three times a year, and if you need more, write to us.
Your licence is for a version, and it is yours for good
Buying Pro today is buying version 1: every 1.x update is included and the licence never expires. A future Caretaker 2 would be a separate purchase, at a lower price for owners of version 1, and you never have to buy it to keep using version 1.
Caretaker confirms its licence with sialk.net about once a day while it's online. If it hasn't been able to for 60 days, Pro pauses until it can; the licence itself is never lost.
Refunds
If Pro isn't right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of buying and you'll get one, whatever the reason. A refunded purchase no longer opens Pro. The whole policy is on its own page: refund policy.
The software
Caretaker is provided as it is. We work hard to make it reliable and careful with your files (see Safety), and fix what is reported, but we don't promise it is free of faults or right for every purpose, and we are not liable for indirect loss. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live, including UK consumer law.
You may not resell licences, or use one on more Macs than it covers.
